The Automatic Shotgun is a hitscan projectile weapon used by the Brute class in Tribes: Ascend.

Operation[]
The Automatic Shotgun fires bursts of 8 projectiles in fairly quick succession. This is a hitscan weapon so players do not need to lead targets, however the weapon is only effective at short range.
The Automatic Shotgun deals 40x8 (320) damage per shot against the Generator, allowing it to destroy the Generator faster than any other Brute weapon (except for the Light Sticky Grenades). Although an upgraded Generator will still take quite some time to destroy using the Automatic Shotgun without the use of Light Sticky Grenades.
