Although it is supposed to be a thrown weapon, when used the Spinfusor Disk operates exactly like a disk fired from the Soldier's Spinfusor. This means it travels in a straight line over long distance and has inheritance.
Choosing the Spinfusor Disk over the Heavy AP Grenade means the Juggernaut effectively has three standard weapons at his disposal, although he has limited ammo on the third. Disks are very effective as they can be thrown right after firing a burst with the X1 LMG with no weapon switch time. They also surprise many players who think that since the Juggernaut is using the automatic weapon he has given up his spinfusor.
Spinfusor Disks can be thrown faster than they can be fired from a launcher, giving the Juggernaut an advantage when facing classes with other Spinfusors. Also as stated above they can be thrown right after firing any other weapon, such as the MKD. This means that using the thrown disks the Juggernaut can product a significant DPS even without using the Fusion Mortar.
